5/3/2013 In the News Coldwell Banker West Shell’s Tips for Creating a “Woman Cave” A place where moms can check out from reality and check in to peace and quiet

CINCINNATI, OH (April 24, 2013) - Mother’s Day is right around the corner and Coldwell Banker West Shell has the perfect gift idea- the gift of peace and quiet! Every woman, mother or not, should have a place in their home where they can take some time to themselves to unwind and do something they enjoy, whether that means reading a book, soaking in the bathtub, or planting flowers.

The first step to creating a “woman cave” in your home is to get inspired. Look through images of your dream home to get your creative juices flowing and see what is realistic for your personal space. Here are a few inspirational ideas to get started:

Create a cozy nook: To create a perfect place to cuddle up and read a book, knit or take a nap, the key is to look for a space in your home that is removed from noise and clutter. This can also be the perfect way to transform an awkward corner, windowsill or loft space into a comfortable area for a little relaxation. Some of the best spaces for a “nook” are next to a fireplace, near a large window filled with natural sun light, or even on your balcony.

This meticulous colonial home offers the ultimate retreat for quiet time in front of the fireplace! The home also offers a spacious office, four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and to die for views. It is listed by Coldwell Banker West Shell agent Ken Schuerman for $825,000.

Enjoy a spa day: Every woman dreams of a luxurious spa bathroom in their home, so why not make your dreams come true? There are several do-it-yourself projects that can make you feel like you are away at a spa, such as replacing bath fixtures and faucets, painting the walls, updating your bathtub with a whirlpool spa, and adding natural materials such as teak, bamboo and stone to your décor.

The master spa bath in this modern Mt. Adams townhome screams luxury! The modern double sinks, stone shower and neutral décor makes you feel like you are at a spa-everyday. The home also includes a large terrace ideal for entertaining, gourmet Kitchen and elevator with private entry. It is currently listed by Coldwell Banker West Shell agent Todd Blersch for $750,000.

Create an outdoor oasis: Need some fresh air? Enjoy yourself while making the most of your outdoor space by planting a serene and tranquil garden. To get started, here are a few tips: choose an area that gets at least six hours ofsunlight per day, plant a variety of flowers for a colorful display, and do your research before breaking ground . Also, plan ways to enjoy your outdoor oasis by incorporating outdoor furniture or a pond to create a comfortable place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful flowers.

A look inside (and outside) this townhome will surprise you when you discover the unbelievable rooftop veranda with river views. It goes to show that you don’t need a huge backyard to create a small garden. The home is currently listed by Coldwell Banker West Shell agent Michael Hinckley for $649,900.

5/2/2013 In the News The Coldwell Banker West Shell Northern Kentucky Office Collects Donations for Notre Dame Urban Education Center

CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY (April 22, 2013) – The Coldwell Banker West Shell Northern Kentucky office is ramping up fundraising efforts in support of the Notre Dame Urban Education Center.  Real Estate agents Neil Blunt and Mike Spicer are spearheading the project in the Crestview Hills office to collect school supplies and monetary donations for the center’s after school and summer programs.  This is a yearlong fundraising effort in partnership with the Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors that has already generated over $1,000 and several boxes of school supplies.  The goal is to raise $12,000 by the end of the year.

The Notre Dame Urban Education Center offers transformative educational programs to inner city students, providing support to help them reach their full academic and personal potential.  The center provides the following programs designed to build confidence and self-esteem in the children: instructional tutoring, creative play, fine arts enrichment and physical education.

Blunt first learned about the organization when he became the listing agent for the former Salvation Army building that was purchased by the Sisters of Notre Dame of Covington in 2010 to hold their after school and summer programs.  “When I learned about the Notre Dame Urban Education Center I was so impressed with the diverse programs that they provide for children,” said Blunt.  “This is an important organization in our community and I am proud that the agents and staff at the Coldwell Banker Northern Kentucky office, along with other brokers in the Northern Kentucky area, have jumped at the chance to support such a great cause.”
